APTAKE
Privacy policy
Summary
APTAKE has no account and no server of ours. Your projects, chats, files, notes and decisions are stored on your device, and we do not receive them. When you ask an AI a question, the app sends your request from your device to the AI provider you chose, using your own API key. That provider’s policy then applies to what it receives.
Who we are
APTAKE is made by EnverOwn LLC, a Wisconsin limited liability company (“EnverOwn”, “we”). You can reach us at hello@enverown.com.
What stays on your device
- Projects, chats, notes, files, decisions, saved memory and settings.
- Your AI provider API keys, which are kept in the Apple Keychain on your device.
- If you turn on the app lock, Face ID, Touch ID or passcode is handled by Apple. The app does not receive your biometric data.
We do not have access to any of this, because it is not sent to us.
What goes to an AI provider
APTAKE supports OpenAI, Anthropic (Claude), Google (Gemini), xAI (Grok), Mistral and Perplexity. You add your own key for each one you want to use. When you send a message:
- The app sends your message and the items you chose to include, such as notes or files, directly from your device to that provider over HTTPS.
- Before you send, the app shows a list of what the AI will receive. Items marked Private are not included.
- Your key is sent to that provider to authorize the request. It is not sent to us.
- If you turn on web search for a chat, or ask for a picture, the request goes to the provider that handles it, under that provider’s terms.
We do not control how a provider stores or uses what it receives. Each provider has its own privacy policy and terms, and you should read them before you send anything sensitive. You can use APTAKE without sending anything to a provider, to open and search your saved work.
What we do not do
- We do not run an APTAKE account system.
- The app contains no analytics, advertising or tracking code.
- We do not sell your data, and we do not hold it to sell.
Apple
You get APTAKE through the App Store or TestFlight, and Apple’s terms and privacy policy apply to those services. Apple may give us aggregated sales and usage information, and crash reports from people who chose to share them with developers. We do not receive your projects through Apple.
Backups and exports
Backup and export files are created by you and saved where you choose, such as Files or iCloud Drive. Your API keys are left out of them. Your device’s own iCloud backup includes the app’s data and is protected by your Apple Account. Advanced Data Protection can encrypt it end to end.
This website
aptake.app uses no cookies and no analytics, and it loads no scripts or resources from other sites. The site is delivered by a hosting provider that may record technical details of each request, such as IP address, time and page, to run and secure the service. Its own privacy policy applies to those logs.
If you write to us
Mail sent to hello@enverown.com is forwarded by our domain provider to our mailbox. We receive your email address and your message. We use them to reply to you. We do not add them to a mailing list or share them for marketing. Ask us to delete them and we will.
Children
APTAKE is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone through the app.
Your choices
- Delete the app to remove its data from your device.
- Revoke an API key in your provider’s dashboard to stop it from working.
- Ask each provider about data it holds from your requests.
- Write to us to see or delete the email correspondence we hold. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under local law, and you can use the same address for those requests.
Changes
If we change this policy, the date at the top changes with it. If a change affects what the app sends or where it sends it, we will say so in the app before the change takes effect.
