Do not send API keys or private project content. If you must show an error, a screenshot with the sensitive parts hidden is enough.
Questions
What is an API key, and where do I get one?
An API key comes from your own account with an AI provider such as OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, xAI, Mistral or Perplexity. Create it in the provider’s dashboard, then add it in APTAKE. You pay the provider directly for what you use.
An AI answer fails or says the key is not valid.
Check that the key was copied in full, that it belongs to the provider you selected, and that your provider account has credit or an active plan. Provider limits and outages also cause errors, and the provider’s status page shows them.
Which devices does APTAKE support?
iPhone and iPad with iOS or iPadOS 17 or later, and Macs with Apple silicon. Windows and Android are not available yet. Write to us if you need them. We count each request.
What works without internet?
Your projects, chats, files, notes, decisions and earlier AI answers open and can be searched offline. New AI answers, web search and image generation need a connection.
How do I keep something out of what the AI receives?
Mark a message, note or file Private. Private items are not included when you send. Before you send, the app shows a list of what the AI will receive.
How do I bring in a chat from another AI app?
Save the chat as PDF, HTML, Markdown, text or ZIP, then import it into a project. You can preview it first, and it arrives Private until you allow the AI to use it.
How do I export or back up my work?
Export chats as PDF, HTML, Markdown, text or Word-compatible RTF, or save one backup file to Files or iCloud Drive. Your API keys are left out of exports and backups.
How do I remove my data?
Delete the app to remove its data from your device. To stop an API key from working, revoke it in your provider’s dashboard. Your device’s iCloud backup is managed in your Apple Account settings.
